RAS-1

The RAS-1 is a 2-axis accelerometer used to detect when the robot is falling and automatically counter-act by setting the RCB-1 to activate a counter-motion.

The RAS-1 attaches to the KHR-1 controller board - the RCB-1 (or RCB-1HV respectively) via the RSC-1 (or RSC-1HV) sensor board.

If you purchase the RAS-1, you will also need to get the RSC-1HV sensor board.

Sensor Board

RSC-1

The RSC-1 board connects to the RCB-1 (HV version only!) and provides a way to activate motion sequences in response to external stimuli.

The board has 4 input channels. Each takes an analog 0->5V TTL.

Two Units

KRG-1

The unit is a gyro stabilizer that provides feedback input to the servos allowing immediate justification of the robot’s legs to help stabilization and avoid forward and sideway falls.

KRG-2

The unit is a gyro stabilizer that provides feedback input to the servos allowing immediate justification of the robot’s legs to help stabilization and avoid forward and sideway falls.

KRG-3

The KRG-3  detects angular velocity quickly and correctly, helping to assure stable and autonomous functionality.

RCB-3J

The RCB-3J is a 3rd generation controller for robots. Designed specifically for the KHR-2HV, it is more powerful and easier to use than previous controllers.

It can control 24 servo motors and features analog and digital sensor input channels, multi-tasking, master/slave control. It communicates with the PC via UPC. To support real-time control, the RCB-3J incorporates two serial communication approaches - a high speed serial port capable of 115,200 bps communication, and a lower speed serial port for use with R/C type controls.

The low speed interface is compatible with the existing KHR-1 controls.

Motion Processor HV

The Motion Processor HV is an alternative controller board for the RCB-1.

It is used to program multiple motions for the robot, and can do up to 32 degrees of freedom.

It is a very powerful solution that comes with software, CPU board and serial connector.

It was designed by Himeji Soft Works Co. who make some interesting humanoid designs and controler boards and recently are also into dressing up robots as dolls.
